Teaching Philosophy
As a teacher, I am motivated personally and professionally by the belief that learning and education is a positive life time evolutionary journey which can be enriched and enjoyed through an effective sharing learning environment. As a teacher I sincerely believe I can empower students to want to learn as I believe that every young person has the ability to progressively build knowledge, experience deep authentic learning and achieve his or her highest potential through a positive teaching approach. Therefore, I am committed to the responsibility of facilitating curriculum, which progressively deepens student’s understandings and stimulates higher-order-thinking, cognition, metacognition, creativity and emotional/spiritual maturity. I aim to achieve this in my practice through the subject curriculum framework criteria, syllabus guidelines, student-centred/social perspective content and explicit “Art and Science of Teaching” pedagogies. My explicit, adaptive and critically reflective pedagogical approach will be based around inclusive curriculum which prioritise social justice within a democratic classroom through understanding the multicultural individuality and special needs/abilities/gifts of each student and adjusting curriculum and communication accordingly, for the best learning outcomes.
